GUATEMALA AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala, His Excellency
Jorge
Skinner Klée, this morning presented his credentials
to Governor
General, Sir Colville Young, during brief ceremonies at
Belize House in
Belmopan.
In making
his presentation, Ambassador Skinner Klée told Sir
Colville
that his presence in Belize ratifies Guatemala's willingness
to pursue
every avenue of bilateral discourse in order to achieve
full
understanding and integration so that "we may best
secure the common
interest of our region and our peoples."
He noted
the "shared and secure future of our inhabitants requires
the
concerted efforts of all of us if we are to attain a sustainable
development."
After
accepting his Credentials, Sir Colville assured Ambassador
Skinner
Klée that the documents would be laid before Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II at the earliest convenience. Both men than proceeded
to hold private
talks.
Prior
to the presentation of his Credentials, the new Guatemalan
Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Chief Executive Officer
in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. David Gibson and Prime Minister
Hon.
Said Musa.
Later
in the morning he also called on the Dean of the Diplomatic
Corps,
Mexico's Ambassador to Belize His Excellency Enrique Hubbard
Urrea.
