In the context of the facilitation process under the auspices of the OAS designed to achieve a settlement of the differendum between Guatemala and Belize, the Facilitators have requested a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belize and the President of Guatemala in order to hear their views with respect to certain matters on which the Facilitators required more information. It has been agreed that the meeting will be held in Guatemala on Saturday, 13 April 2002.

Prime Minister Musa will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Assad Shoman and Ambassador Alfredo Martinez, who is an integral part of the Negotiating Team in representation of the United Democratic Party. They will travel to Guatemala from Costa Rica, where they have been representing CARICOM at the Rio Group Summit.
