I like that the GOB is making all this information and the history of
these negotiations open to the world. Many of us are watching from all over
the world and I too support my homeland's efforts to be sovereign and
independent. I like the idea of having this information if Spanish so that
Guatemalans can also have access to all the information and not just those
espoused by political agendas. Like most others, I too hope for a peaceful
resolve, but if and when my country calls me, I will respond! Viva Belize!

COMMENTS: dear sir,after going through above mentioned facts i found that
Guatemala's territorial claim is not only unfounded and unjust but also
unrealistic even against world peace and against "good nighouber
"principle.I support your country view below mention points
{1}The right of people to self-determination
{2}Guatamala never occupied, nor did any exercise for any control over any part of the territory of Belize.
{3}Sep.5,1991, Guatemalan Govt. recognised the indepence of Belize
{4}Non-Aligned movement;ACP/EU Joint Assembly;CARICOM the UK/caribben recognised belize sovereignty and self-determination

COMMENTS: i belive that belize in all the sence should remain free and un touched by the un solved dreaam that the guatemalans have of an integrated belize with guatemala never in the histery of the international comunity should belize cease the tranquil and peaceful talks it has to sovde this unfounded clame, belize will an forever be the land of the free.

COMMENTS: As a former member of the 101st Airborne Division, with combat experience in Vietnam, I would be proud to stand beside Belizean soldiers in defending the territorial integrity of their democratic nation.

COMMENTS: Men, this is a wonderful piece of library information you got here. I always wanted to know more about the country my parents came from and when I heard of this website from my friends in Belize, I immediately came to check it. I deeply sympatize with your endeavors and may God bless you on your way of settling this unnecessary matter. Thanks to you I know more than I did and someday I'll come back to see what I don't remember seeing when I was a baby. COMMENTS: I am proud belizean living abroad, its very shameful that guatemala cannot recognize belize has a independent country I thought a country like guatemala who has had history of civil strife, would recognize that our people simply wish to live in peace, I am also glad that the many country has supported our independence I hope in soon or near future, that guatemala will give up its childish behaviour, and move to developing its country, rather trying to claim our beloved country.
